The guys were excited to welcome Randall Naftal to the Manor of Hope for a Bonsai demonstration this past week.
Randall has been practicing Bonsai since 1986! He was a founding member of the Pennypack Bonsai Society and was chairman of the Philadelphia Flower Show’s Bonsai exhibit for 22 years.
Randall now hosts classes and demonstrations at Valley Forge Flowers as well as private events.
During his visit to the Manor, Randall transformed a juniper into a Bonsai in real-time. The guys were able to observe his techniques and ask questions throughout the demonstration and the resulting juniper Bonsai was then planted in the Manor’s Zen garden to be tended by our residents.
The Manor of Hope is thrilled to have Randall returning in a few weeks to host another class in which every participant will be able to work on their own tree.
