Manor of Hope is a unique drug treatment support program serving the Dublin Ohio area.

The entire state of Ohio is experiencing a heroin epidemic but not where you’d expect it.

Ohio is ground zero of the opioid crisis in America.

The rural and urban areas have been hit hard, but heroin use is especially higher in the suburbs and in particular the wealthy suburbs. Dublin, which is a wealthy suburb of Columbus, is located northwest of the city and is now being plagued by heroin use. And along with this addiction problem is an influx of crime to support the addiction.

Heroin does not discriminate. Any race or income level is vulnerable.  In Dublin, there has been a huge rate of high income, white, highly achieving teens who are now entering rehab programs.

In Ohio, a record 3,050 people died of drug overdoses last year, most the result of opioid painkillers or their relative, heroin. For the second time this year, a coroner’s office in Ohio has run out of space for dead bodies due to the opioid epidemic.

“I’m looking at 2,900 autopsies, 2,000 of them overdoses,” – Dr. Harshbarger, coronor

His office reportedly handled fewer than 2,000 autopsies total in 2016. This has turned into a national crisis and deceptive addiction treatment centers are popping up all over the U.S.

Some of our residents have come to us after multiple stays at these short-term centers, wanting to fully recover but not able to resist the temptation all around them. All of our residents have at one time or another, overdosed and then returned to their drug of choice. We feel that any short term program will not work as the drugs take well over 30 days to clear from a person’s system. This sets them up for a quick relapse and the cycle begins again.
