The hot summer days are finally here, and we at the Manor of Hope continue to keep our guys safe, but active.

We are lucky that the Manor of Hope has its own gym so that our guys can continue to keep physically active, which is important for individuals in recovery.  Also, whenever possible; we get out into the outdoors to get some fresh air.

This last week we had two great outings…

Some of the guys experienced mountain biking for the first time on the trails at Lake Nockamixon, in Bucks County.
Jesse and Dave took to the trails with Jose, who’s an avid mountain biker and knows all of the trails at the lake very well.

The guys put in a solid ride, and everyone had a great time.  We will try to get back out to those, and other trails during this summer season!

The second outing this week was to a place that the guys visit on a regular basis – disc golfing.

This is the renowned disc golf course at French Creek State Park.  We’ve been here several times over the years, and it is always a fun place to enjoy the great outdoors while getting in some exercise.

The course is challenging and it can be a technical course, but it’s fun nonetheless.

It was Jackson’s first time at a disc golf course, but he did very well.
The guys navigated the first 9 holes with no problem.

However, the heat, humidity, and the rumble of distant thunder discouraged the gang to finish the second half of the course.

No worries though, we’ll be back to finish the course soon.
Summer is just getting started!
