July 4th weekend, we found ourselves in Cape May, New Jersey …. on a fishing charter boat!

We loaded into the van and fought the traffic to arrive at our charter in the nick of time.   Anchors up, and we were on our way!  The weather was perfect and we arrived at our destination 10 miles offshore, to target Black Sea bass.  Lines in the water, and it wasn’t long before we pulled a few up on the boat.

We fished for two hours, and everyone aboard from the Manor caught a fish!   Staff member (and undisputed Manor fishing guru) John K. caught the biggest fish of the day on the entire boat!

It was a great day of adventure and camaraderie.  We are thankful for the opportunity and look forward to getting back on the open seas soon!

Manor of Hope loves heading to the New Jersey shore during the summer! It’s our way of giving our residents some well-deserved chill time and a chance to experience all of the summer beach activities “down the shore”.
