As time marches on, we welcome the springtime growing season at the Manor with enthusiasm.

Working with our friends from Stony Hill Farm, we prepared our beds with rich, organic compost, and devised a plan for our course of action.  Bright sun and fair weather give us good conditions to begin planting today.

“Spring work is going on with joyful enthusiasm.”

― John Muir, The Wilderness World of John Muir

We planted red and golden beets, cabbages, swiss chard, lettuces, arugula, swiss chard, red onions, carrots and snow peas from seed.  In an effort to give us the best results possible, we have tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, melons, and herbs starting in the protective environment of Stony Hill’s greenhouse.

We welcome the expertise of our farmer friends, and look forward to the weeks and months ahead… where we get to share in the education and rewarding practice of gardening.
