New Jersey has a huge issue with heroin.

new jersey opioid deaths

NewJersey.com recently reported that there were least 128,000 people actively using heroin in New Jersey, and described it as “Heroin Town”, the state’s 4th largest city, boasting a population of at least 128,000.

Drug overdose death rates have soared in 2015 which have been driven by the overwhelming rise of heroin use in New Jersey and the new rise of fentanyl, currently one of the deadliest drugs in the state .

Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid which is 50 times more powerful than heroin. In New Jersey,  417 deaths have been attributed to fentanyl which is more than 8 times than just two years ago.

Fentanyl is so powerful that 2 Atlantic County policemen were hospitalized last year when they accidentally opened a bag of it at a crime scene. All that is needed to be lethal is a small grain.

Currently, New Jersey pledged $100 million toward drug and alcohol treatment last year and continues to speak out about the issue.

No longer are heavy urban locations the main source of deaths, it has moved to the suburbs of New Jersey Addiction and Mental Health Treatment are essential for rehabilitation.

The Manor of Hope provides the finest care for young men dealing with substance abuse addiction. We are located in Northeast PA, which is a short drive from New Jersey.  At the Manor of Hope, we have residents from a few miles away in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, to New York, Maryland, Ohio, Washington, and Massachusetts across the country in California and Florida.

There are many drug rehabilitation programs in New Jersey, but there are many benefits to attending an out-of-state addiction program.

Being away from home can make it easier for our residents to concentrate on becoming healthy and immerse themselves in our program without distraction. We have made parents, friends, and family a huge part of the Manor of Hope program. Nurturing these supportive relationships can be transformative. We have many “get-togethers” throughout the year including Father’s and Mother’s Day picnics, Christmas, golf outings, special family meals, and many more events for our residents’ extended families.

Once our residents have finished our main program, they can keep valued friendships and connections and live in our Graduate Housing a few miles from the Manor of Hope campus. There, they will enjoy a sense of freedom while having Manor of Hope’s support system at hand. We continue teaching vital life skills such as money management. Many residents at the Graduate Housing enjoy coming to the Manor of Hope to mentor new residents and share their experiences around the beautiful grounds, campfire, and walking trails.

Transitioning after rehab can be challenging. If you’re seeking ongoing support, our program can provide a safe and structured environment to help you maintain your recovery. Our post-rehab program offers resources and guidance specifically tailored to the needs of men in recovery.

Dealing only with the addiction does not ensure a long term recovery. Addiction affects the mind and the body. We teach our residents to develop healthy & positive habits.
