Our New York Addiction Support Program for Men

Our program is different from most substance abuse rehab programs in the USA. We are committed to creating a world-class facility that will change current views of what effective recovery programs look like in the U.S.

We are a “Therapeutic Community.”

A therapeutic community is a group-based approach to addiction treatment where the focus is on healing the whole person and not simply enforcing abstinence from drug or alcohol use.

Our young men learn to live with purpose and acquire the skills that they need to recover and become substance-free. We focus on their future and guide them through their recovery to a place where they are strong, healthy, and confident.

We support the medical, psychological, social, and vocational challenges that accompany the disease of addiction. By providing our residents with a supportive and healing atmosphere, they are able to realize a successful outcome and transition back into their communities.

Highlights of our addiction support program include:

  • 24/7 monitoring
  • treatment for young men
  • post-detox support
  • therapeutic peer-to-peer interaction
  • long-term treatment
  • small intensive program
  • ability to learn a trade
  • eat farm-to-table cuisine
  • access to the Philadelphia area’s finest addiction specialists
  • post-graduate housing available

New York has the 5th highest opioid overdose deaths in the country.

Drug overdoses have hit an all-time high in New York City during the COVID19 pandemic and now have over 2,000 deaths per year. Fatal overdoses every 5 hours in New York

Clearly, the state of New York has a huge problem with addiction. Opioid overdoses have quadrupled since 1999 and are steadily climbing.

Heroin & opioid deaths rose faster in New York than almost all other states

Overall, New Yorkers under the age of 40 make close to 64% of opioid treatment admissions and approximately 45% of those are from upstate, 40% are from NYC, and a staggering 14% are from Long Island.

No longer are heavy urban locations the main source of deaths. It has moved to the suburbs.

In 2014, heroin was reported as the primary drug in 81% of the opioid treatment admissions and two-thirds of those patients reported daily use of heroin. Current statistics have only risen to epidemic levels and have quadrupled. Synthetic opioids such as Fentanyl are present in more than three-quarters of all overdose deaths in NYC.

There are many drug rehabilitation programs in New York, but there are benefits to attending an out-of-state addiction program.

At the Manor of Hope, we have residents from a few miles away in Southeast Pennsylvania, to New York, Maryland, Ohio, Washington, and Massachusetts to all the way across the country in California and down in Florida.

It doesn’t matter what part of the country you are from, our post-rehab support program is one of the best and most comprehensive programs you will find for young men needing help with overcoming their addiction.

Being away from home can be easier for our residents to concentrate on becoming healthy and immerse themselves in our program without distraction. That said, we have made parents, friends, and family a huge part of the Manor of Hope program. Nurturing these supportive relationships can be transformative and we have many “get-togethers” throughout the year including Father’s and Mother’s Day picnics, Christmas, golf outings, special family meals, and many more events for our residents’ extended families.

Once our residents have finished our main program, they are able to keep valued friendships and connections and live in our Graduate Housing a few miles away from the Manor of Hope campus. There, they will enjoy a sense of freedom while having the support system of the Manor at hand. We continue teaching vital life skills such as money management. Many residents at the Graduate Housing enjoy coming to the Manor of Hope to mentor new residents and share their experiences around the beautiful grounds, campfire, and walking trails.

Dealing only with the addiction does not ensure a long term recovery. Addiction affects the mind and the body. We teach our residents to develop healthy & positive habits.

The Manor of Hope provides the finest care for young men dealing with substance abuse addiction. We are located in Southeastern PA, which is a short drive from New York state. Some of our residents come from:

5 Reasons why our substance abuse treatment program is better than others

1 - Find the cause of the root addiction

STATE-OF-THE-ART PROGRAM: Manor of Hope has taken extreme care in building a top-notch program.

Our addiction rehabilitation support program focuses on healing through hard work, exercise, proper diet, and 12-step support as well as alternative therapies to produce a well-rounded and multi-approach method of rehabilitation.

Residents will find spiritual healing through meditation, art therapy and self-examination.

2FOOD: Food can have a huge effect on the body. Our program adheres to a strict no-sugar policy.

Sugary foods and drinks can cause medical issues as well as create huge sugar highs and lows which can negatively affect mood. Sugar is also highly addictive! On-staff at the Manor of Hope are professional chefs who use all fresh ingredients from locally sourced farms. We also have an on-site organic garden which our residents not only help maintain but also reap the benefits from their hard work by eating organic fruits and vegetables prepared as healthy meals from the crop. You are what you eat!

EXERCISE: Daily exercise along with a good diet can have an amazing impact on the body’s health and mental well-being.

Residents at the Manor are taught how to take care of their bodies through a daily exercise regime at our on-site Wellness Center where we have exercise equipment and take courses including yoga at a local YMCA. On weekends, we stress athletic activities such as hiking in Valley Forge Park, trips to the New Jersey shore, canoeing in the Schuylkill River, golf, zip-lining, bowling, etc. Not only will they improve their physical health, but they will also learn that exercise will make them sleep better, heal their brains, help with anxiety and anger management, and boost their self-esteem.

4THERAPY: Our residents are taken several times a week to some of Philadelphia’s best addiction therapists.

A therapeutic community is a participatory, group-based approach that improves the likelihood of long term recovery. Each of our residents lives in a family environment where they support each other’s’ successes. They motivate each other to be strong and encourage each other to take responsibility for themselves.

Manor of Hope residents are part of a community where each person is held accountable to follow the rules and celebrate the wins and support the stumbles.

FUTURE CAREER OPPORTUNITIES: Each of our young men are given the chance to work with small business partners within our local community.

The “Building Futures Program” is a unique program that strategically places residents to work alongside local business owners to learn a trade or skill. Many of our residents did not have jobs prior to coming to the Manor of Hope, their lives were wrapped around the all-encompassing scourge of addiction. Early in the program, our residents are monitored to determine strengths, weaknesses, likes & dislikes. We’ve strategically focussed on businesses in the area that are perfect for creating an environment where our young men can work closely alongside them to learn the new skills which they need to have a future career.

We also help them open their own bank accounts, learn about money management and other life-skills. They earn money and deposit their weekly earnings to start them on their way. At the end of their stay, they’ll be given full access to their accounts and can use the money they’ve saved to buy a car or help with rent.

We teach residents responsibility, how to work hard and take pride in their work. It is a program like no other!
