“We are committed to creating a world class facility that will change our current views of what effective recovery programs look like in the U.S.”
We believe that successful, addiction treatment must incorporate 3 essential components
Find the root cause of the addiction
Allow time for healing
Lifestyle change through learning
Our PA Opioid, Drug & alcohol Addiction Rehab Support Program
Our program is different from most substance abuse rehab programs in the USA.
We are a “Therapeutic Community.”
A therapeutic community is a group-based approach to addiction treatment where the focus is on healing the whole person and not simply enforcing abstinence from drug or alcohol use.
Our young men learn to live with purpose and acquire the skills that they need to recover and become substance-free. We focus on their future and guide them through their recovery to a place where they are strong, healthy and confident.
We support the medical, psychological, social and vocational challenges that accompany the disease of addiction. By providing our residents with a supportive and healing atmosphere, they are able to realize a successful outcome and transition back into their communities.
Highlights of our addiction support program include:
- 24/7 monitoring
- treatment for young men
- post-detox support
- therapeutic peer-to-peer interaction
- long-term treatment
- small intensive program
- ability to learn a trade
- eat farm-to-table cuisine
- access to Philadelphia area’s finest addiction specialists
5 Reasons why our addiction rehab treatment program is better than others
STATE-OF-THE-ART PROGRAM: Manor of Hope has taken extreme care in building a top notch program.
Our addiction rehabilitation support program focuses on healing through hard work, exercise, proper diet and 12-step support as well as alternative therapies to produce a well-rounded and multi-approach method of rehabilitation.
Residents will find spiritual healing through meditation, art therapy and self-examination.
FOOD: Food can have huge effect on the body. Our program adheres to a strict no sugar policy.
Sugary foods and drinks can cause medical issues as well as create huge sugar highs and lows which can negatively affect mood. Sugar is also highly addictive! On-staff at the Manor of Hope is a professional chef who uses all fresh ingredients from his local farm. Our residents not only help him maintain the farm and care for the organic fruit and vegetables, but they also reap the benefits from their hard work by eating fabulously prepared, healthy meals from the crop. You are what you eat!
Meet our chef, Paul Marshall: Paul has been a professional chef in Florence, Italy, worked under Emeril Lagasse in new Orleans, been Executive Chef at the Hong Kong Sheraton Hotel and Chef De Cuisine of Oscars, the French Brasserie, in the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
EXERCISE: Daily exercise along with a good diet can have an amazing impact on the body’s health and mental well-being.
Residents at the Manor are taught how to take care of their bodies through a 2 hour daily exercise regime at a local gym. On weekends, we also stress athletic activities such as hiking in Valley Forge Park, trips to the New Jersey shore, canoeing in the Schuylkill river, golf, zip lining, bowling, etc. Not only will they improve their physical health, they will also learn that exercise will make them sleep better, heal their brains, help with anxiety and anger management and boost their self esteem.
Our Director, Jose Rivera wrote an article on the benefits of exercise and mental health and how it positively affects our young men.
THERAPY: Our residents are taken several times a week to one of the Philadelphia’s best addiction therapists.
A therapeutic community is a participatory, group based approach that improves the likelihood of long term recovery. Each of our residents live in a family environment where they support each other’s’ successes. They motivate each other to be strong and encourage each other to take responsibility for themselves.
Manor of Hope residents are part of a community where each person is held accountable to follow the rules and celebrate the wins and support the stumbles.
FUTURE CAREER OPPORTUNITIES: Each of our young men are given the chance to work with a small business partners within our local community.
The “Building Futures Program” is a unique program which strategically places residents to work alongside local business owners to learn a trade or skill. Many of our residents did not have jobs prior to coming to the Manor of Hope, their lives were wrapped around the all-encompassing scourge of addiction. Early in the program our residents are monitored to determine strengths, weaknesses, likes & dislikes. We’ve strategically focussed on businesses in the area that are perfect for creating an environment where our young men can work closely alongside them to learn the new skills which they need to have a future career.
We also help them open their own bank accounts, learn about money management and other life-skills. They earn money and deposit their weekly earnings to start them on their way. At the end of their stay, they’ll be given full access to their accounts and can use the money they’ve saved to buy a car or help with rent.
We teach residents responsibility, how to work hard and take pride in their work. It is a program like no other! Learn more about our Building Futures Program.
Pennsylvania is in
an addiction crisis!
Last year 3,505 people in Pennsylvania died from a drug overdose — that’s more than the number of people who died in car crashes that year.
The current governor of Pennsylvania, Tom Wolf and his administration are making the fight against substance abuse issues and opioid and heroin abuse one of its top priorities. They have allotted millions of dollars of funding for public awareness programs, prescription drug monitoring programs as well as drug take back boxes and programs. They are also providing easy access to Naloxone which is a safe medication that temporarily reverses opioid (prescription pain medication or heroin) overdoses.
Dealing only with the addiction does not ensure a long term recovery. Addiction affects the mind and the body. We teach our residents to develop healthy & positive habits.
The Manor of Hope provides the finest care for young men dealing with substance abuse addiction. Our residents come from all over Pennsylvania including:
