Rhode Island has the 11th highest opioid overdose deaths in the country.

Rhode Island’s opioid crisis has been fueled by a huge amount of illicitly-manufactured fentanyl and related analogue drugs. At least 396 people died from fatal drug overdoses last year, which is a 3% increase from last year. Most of these overdoses were attributed to fentanyl, heroin, and prescription pills which have flooded the country.

Because Rhode Island’s opioid crisis has grown so rapidly, the U.S. Department of Labor has given over $ 1 million in incremental funding to the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training to help combat the economic and social impacts of widespread opioid use, addiction, and overdose.

No longer are heavy urban locations the main source of deaths, it has moved to the suburbs of New York Addiction and Mental Health Treatment are essential for rehabilitation.

In 2014, heroin was reported as the primary drug in 81% of the opioid treatment admissions and two-thirds of those patients reported daily use of heroin. Current statistics have only risen to epidemic levels and have quadrupled. Synthetic opioids such as Fentanyl are present in more than three-quarters of all overdose deaths in NYC.

There are many drug rehabilitation programs in Rhode Island, but there are many benefits to attending an out-of-state addiction program.

At the Manor of Hope, we have residents from a few miles away in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, to New York, Maryland, Ohio, Washington, and Massachusetts across the country in California and Florida.

Being away from home can make it easier for our residents to concentrate on becoming healthy and immerse themselves in our program without distraction. We have made parents, friends, and family a huge part of the Manor of Hope program. Nurturing these supportive relationships can be transformative. We have many “get-togethers” throughout the year including Father’s and Mother’s Day picnics, Christmas, golf outings, special family meals, and many more events for our residents’ extended families.

Once our residents have finished our main program, they can keep valued friendships and connections and live in our Graduate Housing a few miles from the Manor of Hope campus. There, they will enjoy a sense of freedom while having Manor of Hope’s support system at hand. We continue teaching vital life skills such as money management. Many residents at the Graduate Housing enjoy coming to the Manor of Hope to mentor new residents and share their experiences around the beautiful grounds, campfire, and walking trails.

Transitioning after rehab can be challenging. If you’re seeking ongoing support, our program can provide a safe and structured environment to help you maintain your recovery. Our post-rehab program offers resources and guidance specifically tailored to the needs of men in recovery.

Dealing only with the addiction does not ensure a long term recovery. Addiction affects the mind and the body. We teach our residents to develop healthy & positive habits.
